Kazakhstan To Introduce Workplace Harassment Liability

Kazakhstan plans to introduce legal liability for workplace harassment, Orda.kz reports.
Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Yerbol Tuyakbayev said this while commenting on the preparation of the relevant amendments.
Our position is clear: we will legislate this responsibility. There are such cases. Protecting employees’ rights is one of our priorities. Our task is to ensure a healthy atmosphere in the workplace. Therefore, we will insist that this provision be included in the law,he said on the sidelines of the Senate.
According to Tuyakbayev, authorities are already recording cases related to harassment and unhealthy workplace environments.
The authorities now plan to first define the legal terminology and enshrine the relevant provisions in law. After that, they will discuss a specific punishment mechanism.
