Kazakhstan to Develop National Vocabulary Fund Using AI

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education is set to launch a state information system for the National Vocabulary Fund of the Kazakh Language, with AI playing a key role in its creation, Orda.kz reports.
A draft of the rules for forming and maintaining this new system has been published on the country’s Open Regulatory Legal Acts website. The Vocabulary Fund will be built using academic and translation dictionaries and an extensive terminology database.
Project Goals
Preservation, protection, and development of the Kazakh language as a cultural asset; strengthening the status of the state language; accumulation of resources covering all areas of language use; streamlining, digitalization, generation of the current lexical composition of the language, its adaptation to AI and digital technologies; automation of processing processes.
According to the draft law, AI will be trained using the National Vocabulary Fund and play an active role in its development.
To expand the scale of the National Vocabulary Fund and unlock new opportunities, it is necessary to develop mechanisms for integration with external systems, create tools for text processing and analysis, and integrate AI-powered assistants, the document states.
