Kazakhstan plans to increase oil exports to Germany in 2026, KazMunayGas (KMG) Chair Askhat Khasenov announced, Orda.kz reports.
According to KMG, Khasenov discussed the expansion during a meeting with Johannes Bremer, CEO of Rosneft Deutschland GmbH. The two sides reviewed the transportation of Kazakhstan's oil to Germany and agreed to deepen cooperation.
Following the meeting, the existing agreement on oil supplies to Germany (from Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V.) was extended until the end of 2026. The agreement provides for an increase in monthly deliveries from 100,000 to 130,000 tons,KMG stated.
Last year, shipments from the Kashagan field began reaching Germany, followed by Tengiz in 2025. In the first three quarters of this year, Kazakhstan delivered a total of 1.5 million tons of crude to the Schwedt refinery in Germany.
Meanwhile, the Turkish Petroleum Corporation is set to enter Kazakhstan to develop two oil fields, reportedly located along the Caspian Sea coast, with plans to export crude via Azerbaijan.
