President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev hosted Tajikistan's Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Mukhriddin in Astana for official talks, Orda.kz reports.
We highly value friendly relations with Tajikistan, with which we have no unresolved issues. Kazakhstan has special feelings for the brotherly Tajik people. Our countries have always supported each other, which is reflected in the desire to actively develop bilateral ties, the President said.
Toqayev acknowledged President Emomali Rahmon's role in fostering strong bilateral relations. The Tajik Foreign Minister reaffirmed his country's commitment to expanding cooperation.
Tajikistan values fraternal ties with Kazakhstan. Your country is our most important partner. There is complete mutual understanding between us in all areas of cooperation, noted Sirojiddin Mukhriddin.
The discussions covered the implementation of existing agreements, economic cooperation, trade, transit, digitalization, education, culture, regional security, water and energy partnership, and Central Asia's sustainable development.
The meeting follows last year's signing of an allied relations agreement between the two nations.
