Kazakhstan Supports UN Declaration on Palestine

The UN General Assembly approved a declaration supporting a two‐state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict, Orda.kz reports.
A total of 142 countries, including Kazakhstan, voted in favor of the resolution.
Ten countries, including Israel and the United States, voted against, while 12 abstained.
The declaration followed an international conference held at the UN in July under the auspices of Saudi Arabia and France, which focused on the long-standing conflict.
The document calls for "collective action to end the war in Gaza and achieve a just, peaceful and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."
It also states that Hamas must end its rule in Gaza.
We condemn the attacks on civilians carried out by Hamas on October 7. We also condemn Israel's attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in Gaza, the blockade and the famine, which have led to a devastating humanitarian and protection crisis, the declaration says.
UN General Assembly resolutions are not binding but reflect the balance of power within the organization.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry described the General Assembly as “a political circus, divorced from reality.”
In the dozens of points of the declaration approved by this resolution, there is not a single mention of Hamas being a terrorist organization. There is no mention of the simple fact that Hamas bears sole responsibility for the continuation of the war by refusing to return the hostages and disarm. The resolution does not promote a peaceful solution, but, on the contrary, encourages Hamas to continue the war, the ministry said.
