Kazakhstan, Slovakia Discuss Direct Flights and Cargo Transit Cooperation

Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Slovakia, Zhanna Saginova, met with Dušan Novotný, director of Bratislava’s M. R. Štefánik International Airport, to discuss the launch of direct flights between Astana and Bratislava, Orda.kz reports.
The meeting also addressed Kazakhstan’s plans to develop aviation hubs and establish a national cargo airline.
The Slovak side was invited to consider organizing cargo air transport, as well as using Kazakhstan’s airports as transit and alternate airfields for European airlines operating flights to the East,the Kazakh Embassy in Slovakia stated.
In August, Kazakhstan also announced agreements to launch direct flights to Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
