Kazakhstan Slides to 96th in Corruption Perceptions Index

Kazakhstan has fallen in the Corruption Perceptions Index. Compared with last year, its score dropped by two points, Orda.kz reports.
In the 2025 results, Kazakhstan scored 38 points.
«That is two points less than last year. Kazakhstan ranks 96th out of 182 countries,»Transparency International said.
In 2024, Kazakhstan had 40 points and ranked 88th, but in the new rating it dropped several positions.
Experts note that a score below 50 points indicates high corruption risks. Kazakhstan remains in this group.
For comparison, Uzbekistan scored 31 points, Kyrgyzstan 26, Russia 22, and Turkmenistan 17.
At the same time, most European countries achieve much higher results, scoring around 60 to 90 points and placing near the top of the list. Denmark and Finland have traditionally remained among the leaders.
The Corruption Perceptions Index covers 182 countries worldwide. It is a leading international indicator that reflects the level of corruption in the public sector as assessed by experts and the business community. The maximum score is 100 points, where a higher result indicates a lower level of corruption.
