Kazakhstan is one of the largest economic partners of Uzbekistan. We are in third place after China and Russia, Orda reports, citing the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The reasons are a shared border, the CIS free trade zone, and "liberalization of mutual economic relations."
According to the statistics agency, for 11 months of 2024, the volume of foreign trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan amounted to 6.5%. For comparison, China - 19%, with Russia - 18%.
Uzbekistan exported goods and services to our country for 1.3 billion dollars.
Kazakhstan ranks second in the countries that buy Uzbek vegetables and fruits. Russia was the leading buyer of Uzbek fruit and vegetable products, accounting for 42.1% of all supplies. Next are Kazakhstan and Pakistan, with 12.7% and 12.6%, respectively.
496.6 thousand tons of vegetables and fruits worth 179.5 million dollars were imported to our country from Uzbekistan.
From January to November 2024, Kazakhstan imported goods and services worth $2.5 billion to Uzbekistan.
$675 million were industrial products. The Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan notes that cast iron, steel, metal products, etc., are mainly imported.
