Kazakhstan Sees Sharp Increase in Foreign Labor

The number of foreign laborers in Kazakhstan continues to grow. As of early November, 14,400 work permit holders were registered in the country, Orda.kz reports.
According to the Ministry of Labor, most workers arrived from China (5,405), followed by Uzbekistan (2,455), Türkiye (1,042), and India (1,012).
The majority of migrants are employed in:
- Construction — 4,908 people
- Agriculture, forestry and fisheries — 2,808
- Mining — 1,173
- Manufacturing — 1,105
The ministry noted that 544 permits were issued for executives and their deputies, and more than 2,200 for department heads.
The largest groups are specialists (3,700) and skilled workers (1,100).
