Kazakhstan Seeks Greek Investment In Energy And Transport

Kazakhstan and Greece have discussed expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, Orda.kz reports.

Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Kuantyrov met with Greek Ambassador to Kazakhstan Antonia Katsourou. The parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations and the possibility of launching new joint projects.

They paid special attention to preparations for the next meeting of the Kazakh-Greek Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Technological Cooperation. The meeting is expected to take place in Athens in the second half of 2026.

Kuantyrov said Kazakhstan is interested in attracting Greek investment in priority sectors of the economy. These include renewable energy, transport and logistics, metallurgy, agriculture, waste processing, pharmaceuticals, tourism, and digital technologies.

According to Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry, trade between Kazakhstan and Greece reached $2.4 billion last year.

Kazakhstan mainly exports crude oil, polypropylene, ferroalloys, and lentils to Greece. Greece supplies Kazakhstan with medicines, industrial equipment, resins, polyurethanes, and equipment for milk processing.

Greek Ambassador Antonia Katsourou confirmed Athens’ interest in further strengthening economic ties with Kazakhstan.
