Kazakhstan: ROP LLP Financed Recycling Plants Still Idle
Costly waste recycling projects have yet to be launched in Kazakhstan, Orda.kz reports.
This was reported at a government briefing by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Yerlan Nysanbayev.
According to him, the waste sorting plant with a capacity of 60 thousand tons per year has not been launched in the Aqtobe and Abay regions. Operator ROP LLP financed both projects at the time.
1.6 million euros were allocated for the plant in the Aqtobe region, and 2.6 million euros in the Abay region. Those responsible for the project managed to purchase the equipment.
All this equipment is gathering dust now, they are not installed and do not work. Semey has only developed the design and estimate documentation for the construction of the premises. This is the issue, there is no building yet. This equipment must be installed and put into operation. We have already contacted the Akimat more than once, and have now voiced this problem. We hope that they will speed up the installation, installation of all this equipment and the launch, Nysanbaev said
