Experts are observing DDoS attacks targeting Kazakhstan’s information and communication infrastructure, as well as the networks of telecom operators, Orda.kz reports, citing the State Technical Service.
The agency notes a significant increase in traffic on key data transmission channels, which could lead to temporary slowdowns in access to some internet services.
GTS specialists, in close cooperation with telecom operators, promptly carry out technical measures to reconfigure routes and minimize the consequences of attacks. According to preliminary data, cyber attacks are carried out using proxy servers, masking tools and distributed botnets located in various countries. These factors significantly complicate the precise determination of the sources of attacks,
reported the State Technical Service.
The agency says it is taking all necessary steps to maintain the stability and security of the country’s ICT systems.
On Saturday, the Russian version of the Orda.kz website was inaccessible in Kazakhstan for 24 hours — from 6:00 p.m. on May 3 to 6:00 p.m. on May 4 — although it remained available from abroad.
