The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to receive complaints, an Orda.kz correspondent reports.
In recent weeks, Kazakhstani travelers have encountered increasing difficulties at the Georgian border.
Despite a visa-free regime, growing numbers of citizens report being denied entry without explanation, subjected to long interrogations, or treated rudely by border guards.
According to travelers, even return tickets, hotel reservations, and proof of financial means do not guarantee entry. Some travelers are handed refusal stamps without explanation and sent back on the same flight.
While some companions are allowed through, others are turned away.
I flew from Atyrau to Kutaisi. Everything was in order — reservation, ticket, even insurance. But at the border they kept me for an hour, asked a bunch of questions and still didn't let me in. I felt like a criminal, although I hadn't violated anything,
says Atyrau resident Aigerim Orynbaeva.
Some experts suggest the situation may be linked to increased controls due to a surge in tourism or isolated violations of stay rules by foreign visitors.
In response to an official inquiry from Orda.kz, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported that it has not received official notifications from Georgia regarding the number or reasons for entry refusals.
The Ministry emphasized its commitment to protecting the rights of Kazakhstanis abroad and maintaining communication with the authorities of destination countries. It also reminded citizens to independently familiarize themselves with entry and stay requirements, including any current restrictions.
Experts advise travelers to Georgia to carry a complete set of documents, including accommodation reservations, return tickets, medical insurance, and proof of sufficient funds, and to be prepared for additional questions at the border.
