In his remarks, Toqayev highlighted energy cooperation between the two countries. He noted that Kazakhstan exported 30 million tonnes of oil to Italy last year.
"If necessary, this volume can be increased," Toqayev emphasized.
Toqayev also proposed that Italy engage in the extraction of rare earth metals in Kazakhstan:
There are great prospects for strengthening industrial cooperation. Kazakhstan possesses significant reserves of rare earth metals, and we are ready to work together with Italy in this area. Kazakhstan has put forward an initiative to establish a regional research center that will collect and consolidate all relevant information on rare earth metal deposits in Central Asia. We are prepared to offer Italian companies favorable conditions for joint geological exploration and extraction of rare earth elements and minerals, based on the formula ‘investment and technology in exchange for strategic raw materials,
Toqayev said at the Central Asia–Italy summit.
