Kazakhstan’s Prosecutor General’s Office has confirmed it is reviewing possible ties between Kazakhstani officials and the case of Jeffrey Epstein, Orda.kz reports.
The review is being conducted in response to a parliamentary inquiry. It concerns the possible involvement of Kazakhstani officials, including figures associated with the “Old Kazakhstan” period and those who came later.
Deputy Prosecutor General Erlan Utegenov said the agency has access to a large volume of material — around three million messages.
There is a large amount of information — about three million messages, and it is fragmentary. We are now thoroughly studying the data to see where citizens of Kazakhstan appear in it and, more broadly, where Kazakhstan is mentioned in these conversations. he said on the sidelines of the senate.
The Prosecutor General’s Office has not said when the review will be completed. Officials say the process will take time because of the volume of material and the need to verify the reliability of the information
