According to Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, the visa will be intended for graduates of foreign universities with international accreditation, Orda.kz reports.
If they have a job offer, they will be able to stay and work in Kazakhstan for up to three years. This measure will encourage top graduates to build a career in our country and contribute to the development of the economy and science. In addition, the migration policy concept provides for visas that give the right to obtain a residence permit for in-demand specialties, Nurbek said at a government meeting.
Such visas will also be issued to foreign specialists with valuable skills in science and education, as well as to ethnic Kazakhs.
International practice confirms the demand for such measures. For example, in Canada, graduates receive a work permit for one to three years. In Dubai, foreign students can apply for long-term visas, and the best can receive a special ‘Golden Visa’. In Moscow, there is a ‘Moscow Card’ that provides students with social and educational benefits, Nurbek noted.
