Kazakhstan Produces 144,000 Cars, Ranks Third in Commonwealth

Kazakhstan produced 144,000 cars over the past year, Orda.kz reports, citing EnergyProm.
Globally, 92.5 million cars were manufactured in 2024. Production of trucks and light commercial vehicles declined, while buses were the only segment to show growth.
China remained the world’s largest producer, making more than 31 million cars — about one third of global output.
The United States ranked second, followed by Japan.

Russia continues to lead with nearly 1 million cars. Uzbekistan is second, while Kazakhstan ranks third with 144,600 cars.
From January to July 2025, production in Kazakhstan increased by 16.8% compared to last year, but has not yet reached the 2023 record. The bulk of the volume was accounted for by passenger cars,analysts noted.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan produced two and a half times more passenger cars and significantly boosted truck production.
Kazakhstan's cars are also beginning to enter export markets. In Almaty, the AMMKZ plant will start assembling Changan CS55 Plus crossovers, with deliveries to Russia planned from the end of 2025.
