Kazakhstan Police Received Over 100,000 Domestic Violence Complaints This Year

The government spoke of a twofold decrease in crimes against women, Orda.kz reports.
Accurate statistics were obtained thanks to new methods of documenting incidents. As a result, 72,000 protective orders were issued, and courts made 16,000 decisions.
5,500 women were provided aid in crisis centers, and 3,700 came with children. There are 69 such centers in the country.
Over the past five years, crimes against women have been halved, including a 37.9% drop in violent crime, a 49.3% drop in homicide and an 8.7% drop in grievous bodily harm, the government reported.
35,000 illegal internet resources were identified over the year, 127 of which promoted suicide.
Preventive work has also yielded results among minors.
The number of crimes committed by teenagers has decreased by 6%. Homicides committed by minors have declined by 29%, thefts by 19%, and robberies by 15%.
