Kazakhstan: KNB Conducts Operations In Four Regions

Special operations were conducted in Astana, Abay region, and the Aqtobe and Turkistan regions to curb religious radicalism, Orda.kz reports.
Four individuals were detained on suspicion of promoting terrorism, including via social media, and inciting religious hatred. One had prior convictions.
During searches of their residences, material evidence was seized. Pre-trial investigations are underway under Articles 174 and 256 of the Criminal Code,
the National Security Committee stated.
Earlier in 2025, KNB officers also shut down a laboratory in Shymkent that was producing a dangerous drug.
