Kazakhstan Introduces Special QR Code Cards for Foreign Tourists

Foreigners arriving in Kazakhstan will now receive special QR code cards as part of a new initiative by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to enhance tourist safety, Orda.kz reports.
These cards provide direct access to SafeTravel.kz, an electronic portal with essential information for a safe stay in Kazakhstan. Travelers can find guides on local laws, city maps, emergency contacts, and useful apps for navigation and safety.
Key resources on the platform include the "102" app for instant police assistance, a migration compliance guide, official taxi services and telecom provider lists, emergency service contacts.
The first batch of these QR code cards is already being distributed at Almaty International Airport.
