Kazakhstan does not plan to withdraw from the OPEC+ agreement, Orda.kz reports.
Earlier, the United Arab Emirates officially announced that it would withdraw from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and the OPEC+ alliance on May 1, 2026. The strategic decision is aimed at increasing the country’s oil production and could significantly affect global crude prices. Kazakhstan, however, is not rushing to follow its partner’s lead.
Deputy Energy Minister Sungat Yesimkhanov said this at a government briefing.
Kazakhstan has no such plans in principle. We continue to work within the OPEC+ framework. Time will show what the consequences will be for the Emirates. At this stage, work is continuing as usual.he said.
Kazakhstan has also not made any changes to its monthly oil production targets.
