Kazakhstan: Government Confirms Military Parade Plans for 80th Victory Day Anniversary

Kazakhstan's government has approved plans for commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in 2025, reports Orda.
May 7, 2025 — a military parade dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and Defender of the Fatherland Day. Concept: the event will be a key event in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, will emphasize the memory of Kazakhstanis about this important event, the significance of protecting their native land and the continuity of the heroic traditions of the people of Kazakhstan, the document states.
On May 9, wreath-laying ceremonies will take place at various locations.
In Astana, the country's leadership will gather at the "Otan Korgaushylar" monument, accompanied by orchestras, an honor guard, and troops from the capital's garrison.
Similar ceremonies will be held at monuments, memorials, and graves within Kazakhstan and abroad.
In an interview with Ana Tili newspaper, President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev confirmed that the capital will host a Victory Day parade this year.
This will mark the first military parade in Kazakhstan since 2019, as subsequent parades were canceled for various reasons.
