Russian President Vladimir Putin has demonstrated a new “BRICS banknote” that includes the flag of Kazakhstan, Orda.kz reports, citing RBK.
Kazakhstan has recently announced that it does not intend to join the organization in the foreseeable future.
During the BRICS summit, Putin was shown the banknote. He then smiled and showed it to ministers before handing it to Elvira Nabiullina, the head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
Nabiullina's subsequent reaction was commented on by the Russian president's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov.
Nabiullina didn't like the banknote,Peskov stated.
It is unknown why.

Peskov stressed that this money symbolizes “the joint work carried out within BRICS.”
On October 23, Qasym-Jomart Toqayev arrived in Kazan for the summit. He is participating in the BRICS Plus format meetings.
