Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Kuantyrov addressed concerns about difficulties faced by Kazakhstan's citizens at the Georgian border, Orda.kz reports.
Kuantyrov emphasized that every country has its own migration policy, but noted that Astana is maintaining close communication with Tbilisi on the matter.
After we actively started raising this issue, the number of refusals immediately dropped sharply. Therefore, the Georgian side hears us, we work with them,
said the Deputy Minister, speaking on the sidelines of the Majilis.
When asked whether Georgian authorities had provided an explanation for the apparent shift, Kuantyrov replied:
"No, they didn't explain."
Reports have emerged in recent months of travelers from Kazakhstan experiencing issues at the Georgian border, including entry refusals, extended questioning, and unprofessional behavior by border officials, despite the countries maintaining a visa-free regime.
