Kazakhstan is considering building an international motorsport complex in the Atyrau Region. The circuit would meet FIA Grade 1 standards, the highest level of certification for racetracks, Orda.kz reports.

The project’s developers estimate that major motorsport events could attract between 80,000 and 150,000 tourists annually. They claim the project could generate an economic impact of $300 million to $700 million per year and between $20 million and $60 million in tax revenue.

The project would also require new roads, hotels, tourist facilities and utilities. If approved, it would proceed through several stages, including planning, design, construction and preparation for the first events.

The project remains under discussion. No construction cost or timeline has been announced.
