This possibility was discussed at a meeting between the Ministry of Emergency Situations leadership and representatives of the subsidiary of the Chinese state space corporation China Siwei Surveying and Mapping Technology, Orda.kz reports.
The Kazakh delegation and the Chinese company met the day before.
They discussed the possibility of using Earth remote sensing data (ERS), a technology that allows satellites to obtain information about the Earth's surface.
The use of remote sensing technologies will reduce the response time to emergencies and improve the quality of forecasting the parameters of their development. We are open to the use of the latest developments in this area, which will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our work, said Vice Minister Batyrbek Abdyshev.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations press service noted that company representatives demonstrated high-resolution satellite images and even offered training programs in remote sensing.
China Siwei Surveying and Mapping Technology is a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), responsible for China's space program.
