For the first time in Kazakhstan, electrical grid repairs have been performed on 10 kV power lines without shutting off power. The Pavlodar Regional Electric Distribution Company — part of the Central Asian Electric Power Corporation — became the first in the country to adopt this advanced technology.

Until now, repairing 10 kV lines required disconnecting the network for 5–6 hours and notifying consumers three days in advance. Thanks to the new method, repair work is now completed without customers even noticing.

The residents of Kenzhekol village in the Pavlodar region were the first to benefit.

Electricians temporarily relocated the wires and replaced the metal crossarm on the pole, which is used to support the wires, all while keeping the power on.

Since September 2024, specialists at the Pavlodar Regional Electric Distribution Company have regularly worked on energized 0.4 kV lines. They’ve now expanded this practice to include 10 kV systems.
