British Ambassador to Kazakhstan Katie Leach is concluding her diplomatic mission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan announced, Orda.kz reports.
Deputy Foreign Minister Roman Vasilenko presented Leach with a letter of gratitude from President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev and awarded her the “Barys” badge for her contribution to bilateral relations.
The Foreign Ministry noted that during her tenure, economic and educational ties between the two countries expanded, including the opening of branches of British universities and schools. In 2024, Kazakhstan and the UK also signed a strategic partnership and cooperation agreement.
Leach’s departure comes shortly after the two countries signed a new military cooperation plan for 2025–2026, which includes provisions for training Kazakh officers in British military academies.
