Kazakhstan Bans Poultry Imports from the US and Germany

Since January 20, Kazakhstan has temporarily restricted the import of poultry products from the US states of Delaware and South Carolina and the German state of Baden-Württemberg due to bird flu outbreaks, Orda.kz reports.
ElDala.kz reports that the Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision has banned the import and transit of the following items:
- Live poultry and hatching eggs
- Down and feathers
- Poultry meat and other products not heat-treated at temperatures above 70°C
- Feed and feed additives (excluding plant-based or chemically/microbiologically produced ones)
- Hunting trophies (game birds) not taxidermied
- Used equipment for housing, slaughtering, and processing poultry
Additionally, since January 14, Kazakhstan has banned cattle import from Brandenburg, Germany, following an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease.
