Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan Forum in Almaty Honors Heydar Aliyev

The forum discussed culture, economics, and humanitarian ties, Orda.kz reports.

The Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan International Forum, dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the birth of the national leader of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, was held in Almaty. The event was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions, state and public organizations, scientists, politicians, and cultural figures of the two countries.

The forum was organized by the Youth Education Association “Gyzylbash,” the UNESCO Office in Kazakhstan, the World Association of Ahiska Turks (DATÜB), the “İpəkyolu” Public Diplomacy Foundation, and the West Azerbaijan Community with the support of the Agency for State Support to NGOs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The opening ceremony was attended by the representative of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Almaty, Anar Huseynzade, and the Consul General of Türkiye, Evren Müderrisoglu, who emphasized the importance of Heydar Aliyev for the entire Turkic world.

The memory of the leader was also honored by the people's poet of Azerbaijan, Sabir Rustamkhanli, and the deputy of the Milli Majlis, Nagif Hamza.

Writer Olzhas Suleimenov sent a video message, noting that one can learn from Aliyev about state thinking and foresight.

As part of the panel discussion “New Challenges in the Turkic World,” participants discussed prospects for developing cooperation between the Turkic republics, including economic partnership and humanitarian initiatives.

Particular attention was paid to the role of Kazakhstan as a second home for many displaced Azerbaijanis.
