Kazakhstan Army to Receive Bayraktar Drones for Testing - Defense Ministry
There are plans to provide Kazakhstan's army with Turkish UAVs for testing, Orda.kz reports, citing Kazakhstan's Ministry of Defense.
Developing a roadmap to produce them in Kazakhstan has also been agreed upon.
This was discussed during the negotiations between Defense Minister Ruslan Jaqsylyqov and Baykar Defense CEO Haluk Bayraktar.
The talks took place during the Saha Expo-2024 exhibition in Istanbul.
The parties came to an agreement on developing a roadmap on the issue of localizing the production of tactical unmanned aerial systems and loitering munitions on the territory of our country, said the Ministry.
At the exhibition, Kazakhstan's delegation was shown the Bayraktar AKICI, TB3, TB2, Kalkan drones, and Mosquito-X loitering munitions.
Following the negotiations, a protocol of the working meeting of the delegation of the Ministry of Defense and the Baykar company was signed, which confirmed the intention of the Turkish side, on a gratuitous basis, to provide the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan with Bayraktar Kalkan, Bayraktar Mini unmanned aerial systems and the Mosquito-X loitering munition for military testing,
the department reported.
At the same time, as the Ministry of Defense notes, domestic developments in this field are also underway.
Almaty specialists have developed anti-drone guns, which are now being tested by domestic troops.
