The Technical Regulation and Metrology Committee of the Ministry of Trade has introduced general requirements for food delivery services in Kazakhstan, which took effect on January 1, Orda reports.
According to these regulations, couriers must have a personal medical record that shows proof of their medical examinations. They must also complete professional hygiene training and follow generally accepted norms and rules of conduct.
Additionally, customers can now check the integrity of their order's packaging upon delivery and at pick-up points.
The introduction of the standard will bring transparency and uniformity to the food delivery market, boost consumer confidence in the services provided, and contribute to strengthening Kazakhstan's food security system, noted Zhanna Yesenbekova, Chair of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology.
The new standards were developed by the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology at the initiative of the Trade Committee of the MTI RK.
The department believes the new standards will improve the quality of food delivery services provided by restaurants, cafes, logistics companies, and couriers.
