Kazakhstan Appoints New Navy Commander

Serik Burambayev has left his post as commander of Kazakhstan’s Naval Forces after just over a year in the role, Orda.kz reports.
Aqorda announced the change on the morning of August 15, with President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev signing the corresponding order. The position has been filled by Kanat Niyazbekov, who previously served as the first deputy commander of the Navy.
His predecessor, Major General Serik Burambayev, has been promoted.
Burambayev Serik Zhaksigaliyevich has been appointed Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan,
the Aqorda statement reads.
Burambayev commanded the Naval Forces from June 24, 2024, and was noted at the time of his appointment for his specialization in educational work.
