Kazakhstan and Yutong Discuss Expanding Bus Manufacturing Partnership at QazTehna Plant
First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar met with Chair of the Board of Yutong, Wang Wentao, to discuss the progress of their joint project to manufacture buses at the QazTehna plant, located in the Saran industrial zone in Qaraganda region, Orda.kz reports.
Wang Wentao expressed appreciation for the government's support of the initiative, which is being developed in cooperation with Yutong.
We highly appreciate the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of mechanical engineering development and economic diversification and are ready to actively participate in these processes,
he stated.

He highlighted the strategic significance of Kazakhstan’s market and noted plans to increase investments, further localize production, and enhance technology transfer.
Currently, the QazTehna plant manufactures Yutong-branded city buses, intercity buses, tourist buses, and specialized buses. The facility has created over 1,000 jobs for skilled workers.
Since its opening in 2021, the plant has produced over 4,000 buses, with plans to manufacture more than 1,500 additional buses in 2025. To support this expansion, a 10,000-square-meter production area is currently under construction.
It will include facilities for welding, assembly, and fabrication of body components, with a focus on boosting the enterprise’s technological capacity and increasing local content.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening their partnership.
