Kazakhstan and U.S. Discuss Trade, Critical Minerals, and Agriculture

Washington has shown renewed interest in Kazakhstan’s critical minerals and agricultural exports, Orda.kz reports.
As part of his visit to the United States, Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu met with U.S. Trade Representative Jamison Greer in Washington.
The two sides discussed key trade policy issues, including both tariff and non-tariff barriers.
In addition, we discussed the dynamics of economic relations between the two countries, including cooperation in energy, transport, high technology and rare earth metals,
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan stated.
Special focus was given to expanding logistics corridors, entering new export markets, and boosting cooperation in the agricultural sector.
Astana reiterated its commitment to supporting foreign investment and highlighted ongoing large-scale joint ventures with American companies. U.S. officials expressed interest in Kazakhstan’s potential in the field of critical minerals, particularly in mining and deep processing.
