Kazakhstan’s Prosecutor General, Berik Asylov, and Singapore’s Minister for Home Affairs, Edwin Tong, have signed an agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, Orda.kz reports.
The document covers the exchange of evidence, the return of assets transferred abroad, and cooperation in criminal investigations.
On September 8, Asylov attended the 30th conference of the International Association of Prosecutors, held in Singapore.
The events included a constructive exchange of views on combating cybercrime, the use of digital evidence, asset recovery, and cooperation to effectively respond to new types and threats of crime, the statement said.
According to Asylov, the agreement is particularly important for Kazakhstan, given Singapore’s status as a global financial center.
