Kazakhstan’s Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision has announced the signing of veterinary certificates with Iraq’s veterinary service, covering the export of slaughter cattle and small ruminants from Kazakhstan, Orda.kz reports.
The agreement was reached during bilateral negotiations between the relevant agencies of the two countries. It opens a new export route, expanding the geography of Kazakh agricultural supplies and strengthening economic ties with the Middle East.
The harmonisation of veterinary requirements reflects a high level of trust in Kazakhstan’s veterinary control system and represents an important step in developing the export potential of domestic livestock farming. Iraq has become a new market for Kazakh products, highlighting the positive trend of expanding foreign trade in the agro-industrial sector, the Ministry of Agriculture said.
The Committee added that work on aligning veterinary requirements with other countries is ongoing.
