Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, held talks in Bishkek with his Kyrgyz counterpart Jeenbek Kulubaev during an official visit, Orda.kz reports.
The main topic of the meeting was the preparation for President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev’s upcoming official visit to Kyrgyzstan, as well as the organization of the 7th session of the Supreme Interstate Council.
Kazakhstan is firmly committed to deepening its allied relations with brotherly Kyrgyzstan based on mutual respect, trust, and consideration of each other’s interests. These are the principles that guide us in building a long-term partnership,
said Nurtleu.
Kazakhstan is among Kyrgyzstan’s top three trading partners. In 2024, bilateral trade reached $1.7 billion, with plans to increase that figure to $3 billion by 2027.
The talks also emphasized the importance of cultural and humanitarian exchange.
Last year, Kyrgyz Culture Days were successfully held in Kazakhstan. This year, Kazakhstan is preparing for Kyrgyzstan Film Days, a youth forum, and the unveiling of a “Golden Bridge of Friendship” monument in Bishkek.
