A Ukrainian drone attack on the Unecha oil pumping station in Russia’s Bryansk region has not affected deliveries of Kazakh oil to Germany, Orda.kz reports.
Foreign media earlier reported that, during the night of August 13, the Unecha station was targeted by drones. The circumstances of the incident are still being clarified. Citing satellite images, “RBC-Ukraine” claimed that a large fire allegedly broke out at the station following the drone strike.
Unecha is part of the Druzhba pipeline infrastructure, through which Kazakhstan sends crude oil to Germany and Hungary. In particular, the Druzhba line delivers Kazakh oil to the refinery in Schwedt, Germany.
In response to Orda.kz’s question on whether the situation at Unecha had impacted deliveries of Kazakh oil to Europe, the Kazakh Ministry of Energy replied as follows:
According to available information, transportation of Kazakh oil through the Transneft system is proceeding as normal, with no restrictions on intake from shippers, the ministry’s press service said.
