Kazakh and Russian Foreign Ministers Hold Talks in Almaty

In Almaty, Kazakh Foreign Minister Marat Nurtleu met with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, Orda.kz reports.
Lavrov’s visit is taking place ahead of the upcoming meetings of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers and the "Central Asia + Russia" format.
During the talks, Lavrov emphasized that Kazakhstan remains a reliable ally of Russia and confirmed that President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev has been invited to attend celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory.
Nurtleu announced that President Toqayev is expected to visit Russia this fall. He added that the two countries are steadily progressing toward their goal of increasing bilateral trade to $30 billion.
The Kazakh foreign Minister also highlighted the strategic relevance of joint projects such as the Baiterek initiative at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, as well as Russia's potential involvement in the construction of Kazakhstan’s first nuclear power plant.
Following the meeting, the two Ministers laid flowers at the Eternal Flame in the Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen.
