Kasymbayev Case Sent to Court Over Kidnapping and Assault Case

The criminal case against Hasan Kasymbayev and several others has been sent to court, with the defendants accused of kidnapping, assault, and extortion, Orda.kz reports.
Kasymbaev’s name became widely known following the high-profile homicide of 16-year-old Sherzat Polat in Talgar. The case sparked public discussion about a suspected gang known as the "Khutors," allegedly led by Kasymbayev — a claim police officially denied.
Authorities launched an investigation into him, which concluded in July. On July 29, the regional prosecutor's office approved the indictment and forwarded the case to the Talgar District Court.
The trial date has not yet been announced.
The investigative department of the Almaty Region Police completed the pre-trial investigation against H. Kasymbaev and others. On July 29, 2025, the regional prosecutor’s office approved the indictment and submitted the case to Talgar District Court for substantive review. In accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code, other case details are not subject to disclosure,
the agency told Orda.kz.
