Kashagan Repairs Postponed and Shortened

Repairs at the Kashagan field will begin on October 7, not October 3, as originally planned. Kazakhstan’s government previously discussed postponing the repairs with Kashagan's consortium partners.
The Ministry of Energy's press service emphasized that the repairs would last 30 days. Meanwhile, in September, the ministry named a different start date for the work and reported a different duration (45 or 38 days).
The reason for the postponement and reduction of the repairs is not specified.
In early September, foreign media reported that the Ministry of Energy and the consortium partners discussed postponing the scheduled repairs due to a gas shortage.
On September 6, the ministry explained that such negotiations were held, but this idea remained a discussion.
On the same day, it was reported that repairs at Kashagan would last 45 days.
