Kashagan Gas Processing Plant Set to Launch by 2026
QazaqGaz Chairman Sanzhar Zharkeshov has once again visited the Kashagan gas processing plant (GPP) construction site, which will have a capacity of 1 billion m³, Orda.kz reports.
The main concrete work is complete, metal structures and mechanical equipment are being installed, and 400-ton cranes are being mobilized. Currently, two cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 200 tons have been delivered to the site.

Zharkeshov also met with Atyrau region Akim Serik Shapkenov to discuss the project's significance and local support measures.
Representatives from contractor companies KCG LLP and Integra LLP also visited the site and reported on construction progress, problem-solving efforts, and ongoing work.

The project is now 42% complete. Currently, 900 workers and 75 equipment units are involved, with the workforce expected to grow to 2,000 by mid-2025.
Around 90% of the necessary equipment has already been delivered.
Construction and installation work is actively underway at the site. With the onset of spring, installation of large-sized process equipment will begin. In accordance with the schedule approved by the government of Kazakhstan, the commissioning of the gas processing plant is scheduled for the end of 2026, said Zharkeshov.
Once fully operational, the plant is expected to produce 727 million m³ of commercial gas, 115.5 thousand tons of liquefied petroleum gas, 17 thousand tons of composite gas stable product, and 218.5 thousand tons of granular sulfur annually.
Zharkeshov also reviewed the construction of a liquefied gas terminal, highlighting its importance for regional gas infrastructure and socio-economic development.
