A 16-year-old graduate of Almaty’s Kairat club made history by becoming both the youngest Kazakhstani to play in the Champions League and the youngest to score in the tournament, Orda.kz reports.
In the first round of Champions League qualification, Kairat hosted Slovenia’s Olimpija Ljubljana. The match ended in a 1:1 draw. In the 59th minute, Dastan Satpayev scored the equalizer for Kairat — his first goal in the tournament.
The second leg is scheduled for July 15 at Almaty’s Central Stadium. The winner will face either KuPS (Finland) or Milsami (Moldova) in the next round.
Satpayev’s transfer to Chelsea was officially announced in February 2025. The young striker will join the London club in 2026 after turning 18. Until then, he will remain with Kairat to continue training and competing.
