Jusan Mobile, owned by businessman Galimzhan Yessenov, has completed the acquisition of a 51% stake in Unit Telecom, a company previously co-owned by Nurali Aliyev, grandson of former president Nursultan Nazarbayev, Orda.kz reports.
According to documents published on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) website, Jusan Mobile now controls the provider together with Dmitry Pokupatelev. Nurali Aliyev is no longer listed among the company’s shareholders.
Aliyev had been a co-owner of Unit Telecom since April 2016. In 2021, the firm gained control of Transtelecom (75% minus one share) through privatization.
He sold his stake in Transtelecom earlier this year, in February 2025, after which executives linked to him stepped down from the board in favor of Jusan Mobile representatives. The deal appeared in financial reports in July and has now been officially closed.
Jusan Mobile is owned by Yessenov through his private companies, JV Holding Ltd and Jusan Ventures.
Yessenov currently ranks 19th among Kazakhstan’s wealthiest businessmen, according to Forbes.
