Journalist Sergazy Mukhtarbekov Passes Away at 64

The former editor-in-chief of the newspaper Kazakhstan, Sergazy Mukhtarbekov, has passed away at the age of 64, Orda.kz reports.
On April 24, Majilis deputy Yermurat Bap informed Kazakhstan's society about this:
The winner of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan Prize, former editor-in-chief of the newspaper 'Kazakhstan' Sergazy Mukhtarbekov has passed away. May the Almighty accept his soul into the best of worlds!
Born on May 5, 1961, Mukhtarbekov was a prominent figure in Kazakhstani journalism.
Over the years, he became a respected voice in the country’s media landscape. Under his leadership, Kazakhstan became one of the leading national newspapers, known for its in-depth coverage of socio-political issues and commitment to editorial independence.
He was widely respected by colleagues and readers alike and was a recipient of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan Prize.
