Jambyl Region: Former Deputy Chief of Police Sent to Pre-trial Detention Facility

Deputy Chief of the Jambyl Regional Police Department, Zhaidarbek Kuttybayev, has been placed under arrest for two months. He was dismissed from service on August 29 for “negative reasons” and now faces fraud charges, Orda.kz reports.
When the preventive measure was announced in court, Kuttybayev’s blood pressure spiked. He fell ill and was taken to the hospital by ambulance, where he remains under guard.
Colonel Orazaly Kudabayev, deputy head of the department for combating extremism, was also arrested for two months on charges of accepting a bribe.
According to Orda.kz’s sources, another deputy police chief is currently under investigation.
Earlier, it was reported that Bakhytzhan Malybayev, head of the Jambyl Regional Police Department, submitted his resignation amid these high-profile arrests.
