An Italian court has ordered the extradition of a Ukrainian man, identified only as Serhii K., to Germany over his alleged role in the Nord Stream pipeline explosions in 2022, Orda.kz reports, citing Reuters.
German prosecutors say he led a group that placed explosive devices near the Danish island of Bornholm at a depth of 70-80 meters, damaging several branches of the pipelines.
He was arrested in August near Rimini under a European arrest warrant and is expected to appeal the extradition.
Media reports have suggested that former Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi may have been aware of or involved in approving the operation, but these claims remain unverified and have not been officially confirmed.
