Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will visit Tajikistan in mid-January, marking his first state visit since taking office after Ibrahim Raisi's death in July 2024, Orda reports, citing Asia-Plus.
During the January 15-16 visit, Pezeshkian will meet with President Emomali Rahmon to oversee signing various agreements.
Many Iranian business leaders from industry, mining, and agriculture sectors will participate in a business forum with Tajik counterparts. The visit will also include a medical delegation for professional exchange.
The two leaders previously met at Pezeshkian's inauguration and later at the UN General Assembly, where they discussed security, economics, and aid for Afghanistan.
This visit builds on improving bilateral relations that began under Raisi in 2021 when trade reached $120 million, followed by $33 million in Iranian investments in 2022.
