The main focus of the meeting was on the development of Kazakhstan's transport and logistics complex, Orda.kz reports.
Qasym-Jomart Toqayev noted that our country, due to its geographical location, plays a key role in the development of east-west and North-South transit routes. To increase the volume of cargo transportation, active work continues to attract investment from the world's largest companies.
The President expressed interest in further strengthening long-term cooperation with CMA CGM, whose regional headquarters are in Almaty.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to cooperation within the framework of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which attracts investments in the logistics infrastructure of the Aqtau Sea Port and the construction of container ships for ports in the Caspian Sea.
CMA CGM (Compagnie Maritime d'Affrètement —Compagnie Générale Maritime) is one of the world's largest shipping companies. Founded in 1978 in France, it has a global network of more than 600 container ships and 400 offices operating in 160 countries.
